This itinerary showcases the very best of Vancouver Island. Start with a stunning BC Ferries crossing from Vancouver to Victoria, British Columbia’s charming capital, where you’ll spend two nights. Explore the world-famous Butchart Gardens and enjoy plenty of time to wander the city at your own pace.

Next, head to Tofino on Vancouver Island’s wild West Coast for a three-night stay. This laid-back town is surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty, from tranquil lakes and inlets to ancient rainforests and sandy beaches. The drive along the Pacific Rim Highway is absolutely spectacular, with rugged coastline views and lush rainforest scenery.

The adventure wraps up on Northern Vancouver Island, a region of untamed beauty. Here, you’ll find peace, secluded beaches, and incredible wildlife in their natural habitats—a perfect way to reconnect with nature.

Itinerary
  • Day 1: Vancouver to Victoria

    Depart downtown Vancouver at 9:15am and enjoy a scenic ferry ride through the beautiful Gulf Islands. Once on Vancouver Island, visit the world-famous Butchart Gardens (admission included) and take in the stunning floral displays. Next, stop at Sea Cider for a tour and a delicious cider tasting experience. Afterward, check into your centrally located hotel in downtown Victoria. The evening is yours to explore the city at your own pace.

  • Day 2: Victoria

    This morning, enjoy a guided tour of Victoria, taking in highlights like Beacon Hill Park, Chinatown, the quirky Fan Tan Alley, Fisherman’s Wharf, and Government Street. The rest of the day is yours to explore at your leisure. Take a stroll along Government Street, visit the renowned Royal BC Museum, or treat yourself to Afternoon Tea at the iconic Fairmont Empress Hotel.

  • Day 3: Victoria to Tofino

    Set off early from your hotel and drive along the stunning Malahat Highway, where you’ll enjoy sweeping views over the Southern Gulf Islands. Stop at the Malahat SkyWalk, Vancouver Island’s newest outdoor attraction. Walk along a 600-metre elevated pathway through a beautiful Arbutus and Douglas Fir forest, leading to an impressive 10-storey spiral lookout tower—the first of its kind in BC. Standing 250 metres above sea level, you’ll be treated to incredible 360-degree views of islands, fjords, forests, and mountains stretching across two countries.

    Next, stop in Duncan, known as the City of Totems, for a brief tour and some free time to grab lunch. You’ll arrive in Tofino by evening and check into your hotel, where your guide will share tips about the onsite amenities and the best spots for dinner tonight.

  • Day 4: Tofino - Pacific Rime National Park

    Today, take time to explore Tofino and its stunning beaches, including the iconic Long Beach. You’ll also have the option to join your guide for a scenic hike.

    Later, visit the Ucluelet Aquarium (admission included), where you’ll discover a fascinating variety of local marine life and learn more about the region’s unique environment. If you’re up for more adventure, join your guide for a walk along the Wild Pacific Trail’s Lighthouse Loop in Ucluelet. The trail offers incredible views of the rugged coastline and the sweeping Pacific Ocean.

    The evening is yours to relax and enjoy at your own pace.

  • Day 5: Tofino - Pacific Rim National Park

    Today, you have a full day to enjoy Tofino however you choose. You could take a boat cruise to Hot Springs Cove, go kayaking, try your hand at surfing, hike one of the many rainforest trails, or simply unwind on the beach.

    In the evening, take time to explore the charming town of Tofino at your own pace.

  • Day 6: Tofino to Campbell River

    Check out of your hotel this morning and say goodbye to Tofino as you head back towards Vancouver Island’s east coast.

    Your first stop is Little Qualicum Falls Provincial Park, where you can stretch your legs with a walk through the stunning old-growth Douglas Fir rainforest.

    Next, visit Coombs Market, famous for its goats on the rooftop. It’s the perfect spot for lunch, offering fresh produce, delicious sandwiches, and some of the best ice cream on the island.

    Continue your journey along the scenic Coastal Highway 19A, passing through charming coastal communities and beautiful landscapes. Stop in Comox for dinner and enjoy the relaxed seaside vibe.

    You’ll arrive in Campbell River later in the evening and check into your hotel. Spend the rest of your evening at leisure—explore the resort, watch a beautiful sunset, and soak up the peaceful surroundings.

  • Day 7: Campbell River (Northern Vancouver Island)
    • Morning at leisure with the option to participate in many different activities including kayaking, fishing, and whale watching (Additional Cost)
    • Option to go on a full day Grizzly Bear Expedition into the Bute or Toba Valley (available from Aug 18-Oct 15)
    • Visit Elk Falls Provincial Park and explore the extensive network of walking and hiking trails including Elk Falls Suspension Bridge and enjoy a walk on the elevated cantilevered viewing platform that offers an amazing view of Elk Falls
    • Arrive back at your hotel and free time for dinner
  • Day 8: Campbell River to Vancouver

    Depart Campbell River this morning and head south towards Parksville. Your first stop is Morningstar Farm, a local food hub offering self-guided tours, a farmgate store, seasonal “calfé,” a petting farm, and scenic walking trails.

    Next, stop in Nanaimo for a stroll along the picturesque Harbourfront. Be sure to try a famous Nanaimo Bar—a must for anyone with a sweet tooth!

    In the afternoon, take the 3:55 pm ferry from Nanaimo to Horseshoe Bay, enjoying the beautiful coastal views as you sail. You’ll arrive back in downtown Vancouver at approximately 6:30 pm.
